I was looking at your Furr Family information on Rootsweb just now, at what you have about Jacob Iferdt. I saw that you have the information that comes from the book "The History and Genealogy of the Efird Family" by Judge Oscar Ogburn Efird. I have done extensive research during the last three years, as well as getting help with Swiss records from an Ifert descendant who lives in Switzerland, and we have found that what is in Judge Efird's book about the early history of the Efird family is not correct. Jacob Iferdt actually was born Hans Jacob Ifert in about 1771 sometime between the time that his parents Hans Joggi Jacob Ifert and Maria Schaffner left their village of Rumlingen in Switzerland and when they came to Pennsylvania. I have all of my research in my family tree here on ancestry, as well as essays that I have written to tie everything together, if you would care to look at it. I really do believe that what I have is the correct information and that Judge Efird was mistaken. Please see my "Mecum,Morris/Crayton,Efird ..... Family Tree".
