There is no indication that the William Pickens that married Elizabeth Black was the same that married Nancy Craig. It is very likely that they may be one in the same. Nancy Craig, according to the information in REVEND JOHN CRAIG 1709-1774, by Lillian Kennerly Craig, mentions that there were several families of Craigs none related to the Reverend. Because of the close ties between the Pickens and the Baskins, there stands a strong possibility that Nancy Craig was indeed related to the Reverend, and that she actually came from Ireland and Country Antrium, and may have been a distant cousin to John Craig. It would appear from the Baskin and Craig material that the families were familiar with each other and traveled south together in the company of the Pickens family as well. It is very likely that Nancy died in Virginia or shortly after moving to North Carolina. Afterwards, William probably married Elizabeth Black.
