Individual Details
William WHITE
( - 1773/74)
Based on oral family history, William and Margaret were massacred by Indians in Georgia after having traveled there in search of a new place to live, leaving behind in North Carolina their two daughters, Jean, who was already married, and Agnes. They intended to return for Agnes later. Court records of Mecklenburg County document that William and Margaret sold two parcels of land there in the Fall of 1772. Their daughter appears in court in April of 1774 as an orphan. An inventory of their belongings in Mecklenburg County was conducted in July of 1774.
