Death
Billy Wade Hinson, Sr., 82 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Monday, September 26, 2016 at Trinity Place in Albemarle surrounded by his loved ones. Billy was born October 13, 1933 in Union County to the late Johnny Elijah (J.E.) Hinson and the late Mattie Jane Smith Hinson. He was also preceded in death by his first wife of 52 years, Joyce Page Hinson, who passed away in 2006; daughter, Debbie Leslie; brothers, Johnny, Harvey, Ralph, Paul, and Bobby Hinson; sister, Doris Hinson; and granddaughter, Ariel Furr. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. Allen Montgomery, Rev. Buck Canupp, and Rev. Brian Sipes. The burial will follow at the Oakboro Cemetery, 1397 North Main Street, Oakboro. At other times, the family will be gathering at the home of his son, Wade Hinson, Jr., 37156 Southside Rd., Albemarle. He is survived by his second wife, Geraldine McDonald Hinson of Concord; sons, Billy Wade Hinson, Jr. and wife Sandy of Albemarle, Timothy Hinson and wife Inez of Albemarle; daughters, Kathy Baldwin of Iron Station, Amy Young and husband Wayne of New Berlin, PA; sisters, Janice Williams of Oakboro, Brenda Osborne of Badin, Linda Huneycutt of Norwood, Dorothy Edwards of Concord, Geraldine Thompson of Florida; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; life-long best friend, Jerry Culp of Albemarle; and numerous nieces and nephews. Billy was an electrician and retired from Culp Lumber Company. He was a faithful and devoted member of New Grace Baptist Church in Concord. He loved the Lord and his church family. Billy loved vintage cars, radios, and birds. He enjoyed woodworking and building things with his hands. Billy was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He enjoyed watching Peppa Pig with his great-grandchildren, Maddie and Myles Culp. He was always thinking of others and maintained a positive outlook on life. Billy was a kind, generous, and gentle man, who was truly one of a kind. He was an inspiration to everyone, especially his daughter-in-law and caretaker, Sandy who was honored to take care of him. Billy will be sorely missed by all those who knew him. Memorials may be made to Trinity Place, 24724 US-52, Albemarle, NC 28001, for the staff's special events.
