Death
FURR, Montie L., 72, of Tucson, died Wednesday, January 20, 1988. Survived by wife, Ruth M. Furr; sons, Dennie A. (Marcy) Furr, Murrell Furr; grandchildren, Michael M. Furr, Stephanie M. Furr, Jamie L. Furr, all of Tucson; sisters, Ima (Roy) Voelker of San Diego, CA, Mary (John) Williams of Tucson. Dr. Furr graduated from Bisbee High School in 1934. He attended the University of Arizona and graduated from the University of Missouri, Kansas City Dental School in 1956 with a D.D.S. and stayed on to receive a M.S.D. (orthodontics) in 1958. He has practiced orthodontics in Tucson since 1958. Dr. Furr was a past president of the Southern Arizona Dental Assn., the Arizona State Orthodontic Assn., and the Tucson Orthodontic Society. He has been on the staff of the University of Arizona Medical School Surgery Dept. and Speech Therapy Dept. Memorial service, 3:30 p.m., Saturday, January 23, 1988 at EAST LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd., with Pastor Harry M. Rohwer, Jr. of Streams in the Desert Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be at East Lawn Cemetery. The family requests that there be no flowers, but donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, the City of Hope or a charity of choice.Tucson Citizen, Tucson, Arizona, January 22, 1988
