Death
CONCORD - Elizabeth Davis Furr resided on Miami Church Rd. in Concord, N.C. She was born in Mooresville on Sept. 22, 1916. Her parents were the late Silas William and Vera McNeely Davis. She never forgot her relatives back in Mooresville. She retired from Cannon Mills Plant No. 6 Mill 4 in 1982. She was a member of Forest Hill United Methodist Church and the Grace Wesley Sunday School class. Her family and church were a great joy to her. She really got active when her grandchildren and great-grandchildren came. She was preceded in death by her husband; Charlie Caldwell Furr, whom she married in 1934; by an infant son, Larry Ronald Furr, who died in 1938; and a sister, Madaline Davis Barnhardt. Her earthly life ended at CMC-NorthEast on March 1, 2009. Survivors are her two sons, Richard W. Furr and wife Gayle, the Rev. Jimmie C. Furr and wife Barbara; two grandsons, Shane Furr and wife Leigh Ann, Travis Furr and wife Aprille; two great-grandsons, Andrew and Alexander Furr. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 3, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord. The funeral service is Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at Forest Hill United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. The burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
