Death

LAURINBURG — Gerald Lee Craft, lovingly named "Punkin," passed away at his home on March 31, 2016 at the age of 65. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by the Rev. Rick Hodges and the Rev. Richard Tyson. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park. Gerald was a son of the late John Howard Craft and Fannie Furr Craft born Dec. 18, 1950 in Scotland County. He was a talented mechanic and retired from the Campbell Soup Company after 25 years of service. He served as a long time member of the Pleasant View Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed doing mechanic work and truly loved helping others. He was preceded in death by his son Gerald L. Craft, Jr. and his sister Lois Ward. Punkin is survived by his sons Clifton Salomon Craft and John Robert Craft, sister Catherine Dunn of Hickory, brother James Perhealth of South Carolina, his grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews including special niece Carol Douglas of Laurinburg. Visitation will be from 1- 2 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
