Death
Diane Elizabeth Hall, a life-long Lubbock resident, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 5, 2010, after several years of serious illnesses. She was born on July 28, 1959 and was predeceased by her father, Jack R. Hall, in 1980, and by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Furr. Diane is survived by her mother, Shelley Hall Nelson and husband Bert Nelson of Lubbock; brother, Dr. Roy Hall and wife Sharon of Havre, Mont., and his children, Isaac of San Francisco and Rachael of Chicago; also by her sister, Dr. Katherine Hall, and her children, Brett and Avery Zibilich, all of Dallas; and by another sister, Mary Teresa Hall, and her son, Dylan of Austin, and his daughter, Kya. She was a graduate of Lubbock Christian High School and Texas Tech. While very confined by illness for many years, Diane maintained a positive and happy attitude through her very strong Christian faith. She was known for her exceptional kindness to and concern for all with whom she came in contact, and loved caring for her two large dogs, which she called, "my children." Visitation will be from 7 until 8 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel, 6025, 82nd, on Thursday, April 8, 2010. A graveside service to be conducted by Dr. Jay Horton, is scheduled for 11 a.m., Friday, April 9, 2010 at Resthaven Memorial Park on 19th St. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorials be made to the Jack R. Hall Scholarship Fund at the Texas Tech University Center for the Study of Addiction and Recovery, or to a charity of choice.Endnotes
