Death

John William Barr, Jr., "Bill" was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on October 15, 1951. He passed away on April 8, 2014 at the age of 62. He attended Park Elementary, Clinton Jr. High, and Daniel Webster High School. Bill played football and wrestled for the Webster Warriors. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served three tours in the Vietnam War. After years in management in the retail field, Bill enjoyed fishing, boating, bird watching, and sitting on the deck at his lake property in Eufaula. Bill is preceded in death by his father, John William Barr, Sr.; his mother, Patricia LaVon Barr; and former wife, Janie Ralston. He is survived by his son, Lance Barr and daughter-in-law, Reanna; grandson, Noah Barr; sister, Melody Scholl and husband, Donnie; Sister, Patty Barr; brother, Paul Barr; step-mother, Sylvia Barr; step-sons: Randy, Rob, and Scott Ralston, and families and Keith Allen Sartin; and numerous nieces and nephews. We will miss Bill's generous, soft heart, quirky sense of humor, and his love for the OU Sooners and George Strait. A memorial service will be held 11 am, Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Oakridge Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Heath-Griffith Funeral Home.
