Death

Virginia Mae Furr, age 86 of Sand Springs, passed from this life Thursday, April 7, 2017 in Tulsa. Celebration of life services will be Tuesday, 2:00 p.m., April 11, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church in Sand Springs with Reverend Annaline Drake officiating. Virginia will be laid to rest at Woodland Memorial Park Cemetery in Sand Springs. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs. Virginia was born on May 22, 1930 in Sand Springs to Buford and Alice (McLemore) Gentry. She attended Sand Springs high school and married James Albert Furr on December 1, 1949 in Tulsa. The couple made their home in Sand Springs until James passed away in 2011. Virginia was a homemaker most all her life and was a member at the First Presbyterian Church in Sand Springs where she volunteered in the kitchen. She is survived by her three sons; James Allen Furr and wife Belle of Jenks, Albert Furr and wife Carolyn of St. Jo, Texas, Martin Furr and wife Shawn of Stillwater, a sister; Thelma Knick of Tulsa, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Virginia was preceded in death by parents, husband; James Albert Furr, a brother; Kenneth Gentry, two sisters; Nellie Pate and LaWanda Mitchum.
