Willard Wright Morris RICHFIELD -- Mr. Morris, 85, of 213 East Church St., Richfield, NC, died September 6, 2009, at Stanly Regional Medical Center. He was born August 13, 1924, in Madison County, GA. Service Wednesday, September 9, 2009, 11:00 AM, Richfield Baptist Church in Richfield, with Rev. Dale Collingwood and Dr. Nancy Morris officiating. He will lie in state 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in Richfield Cemetery in Richfield, with graveside military honors by Albemarle-Stanly DAV Chapter 12. The family will meet at the home of daughter Denice, 141 Danritch Dr., Richfield, NC. Visitation Tuesday, September 8, 2009, 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Hartsell Funeral Home-Albemarle. Mr. Morris was retired, having served in the US Navy and at NC DOT as a Highway Inspector. He was a member of Richfield Baptist Church. Survivors include son Phillip Keith Morris and wife Dr. Nancy Morris of Roanoke, VA; daughter Denice Morris Morgan of Richfield, NC; brother Sam Morris of Charlotte, NC; and grandchildren Steven C. Morgan, Keith Morgan, Rachel E. Morris, Jeffrey Morris and Benjamin W. Morris. Mr. Morris was preceded in death by wife Onnarah 'Sue' Furr Morris; father Samuel Claude Morris; mother Pearl Verna Thompson Morris; son-in-law David C. Morgan; sister Myrtha Morris; and brothers Ralph Morris and Howard Morris. Memorials may be made to N.C. Baptist Retirement Homes, P.O. Box 11024, Winston-Salem, NC 27116, and Richfield Baptist Church, 410 S. Main St., Richfield, NC 28137.
