Death
Philip (Phil) Rodney Davidson, Sr. passed away in Arlington, Texas on Friday, April 10, 2020, at the age of 73. Phil was born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee on July 4, 1946, to Kyle H. and Dora Mae (Silva) Davidson. He graduated from Sullivan High School in Kingsport, TN in 1964, and East Tennessee State University with a BS in microbiology in 1968. He began his career at Univac in Johnson City, TN and then worked in research at Duke University in Durham, NC. While working in Durham, he met his wife, Dianne Furr and they were married on January 9, 1971, in Greensboro, NC. Phil then returned to school to study medical technology at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro and worked as a medical technologist for about 15 years. He began chiropractic school in Marietta, GA and then relocated to Grand Prairie, TX to finish school at Parker Chiropractic College in Irving, TX. He graduated in 1985 and spent the remainder of his career working as a chiropractor. Phil was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed working on genealogical research and working in the church. He also enjoyed studying alternative medicine and sharing his knowledge with others. He loved to talk with anyone he met. To say he never met a stranger is an understatement. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Morris Davidson, and a sister, Martha (Billie) Alfaro. Phil is survived by his wife, Dianne Davidson of Grand Prairie, TX; sons, Rodney Davidson of Asheville, NC, Joshua Davidson (Diana) of Fort Worth, TX, and Andy Davidson of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Jacey, Taryn, Adia, and Lennon Davidson of Fort Worth, TX; sisters, Pat Collins (George) of Batesville, AR and Robin Davidson of Cobb, CA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
