Death

BOGALUSA - Mary Elizabeth Reid Rester, 70, a native and lifelong resident of Bogalusa, died yesterday (August 15, 2020) at Columbia Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington. She was a member of Westside Emmanuel Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, W. Clyde Rester of Bogalusa; a daughter, Edna Laurie Rester of Bogalusa; a daughter-in-law, Elaine Winstead Rester, also of Bogalusa; a brother, Alvin Lee Taylor and his wife Lora of Baton Rouge; three nieces and their families; three nephews and their families; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a son, Clyde David Rester; her parents, Tillman Reid and Lela Dunnam Reid Taylor; and two brothers, Ray Williams and Tillman "Bo" Reid. Visitation will be held today at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. and tomorrow from 9 a.m. until the chapel funeral service at 11 a.m. The Rev. Wayne Crawford of Vidor, Texas, will officiate at the service. Interment will follow in Ponemah Cemetery in Bogalusa.
