Death

Richard Douglas Furr passed away Friday, July 19, 1996, when his life was tragically cut short at the age of 19 years. He was the son of Corinne and Kevin Malone and Doug and Nadine Furr, all of Orem, Utah. He was born Aprih, 1, 1977, in Orem, Utah, where he lived most of his life; he also lived in Las Vegas, Nevada. He graduated from Mountain View High School in May of 1995. Richard was a quiet and gentle person with a unique personality and sense of humor, and an incredible talent for art and literature. He loved to learn and had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. He tried to live by a code of truth, honesty, integrity, kindness, compassion, and good intentions. He believed that one should always follow one’s own destiny, and that knowledge has the potential to solve the world’s problems. Richard is survived by his mother Corinne Malone, step-father Kevin Malone, father Douglas Furr and step-mother Nadine Furr, as well as sister Carolee Vernon and brother-in-law Scott Vernon, step-sisters Erin Malone and Laura Wilson, brothers: Brandon Furr, Justin Furr, and David Furr, and step-brothers: Ryan Malone, Brian Wilson and Clint Wilson. He is survived by loving grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 25, at 11 am. at the Timpview Ninth Ward Chapel, 1050 N 600 West in Orem. Friends may call that morning at 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the Timpview Ninth Ward Church Building. Interment at the Orem City Cemetery. Services under the direction of Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary of Orem.
