Death

Lois Furr D'Andrea, fondly known as "Jackie", age 94, peacefully entered her heavenly home on August 20, 2026. Born June 8, 1932, in Cumberland, Virgina, Jackie lived a life defined by her unwavering faith, enduring love for her family, and friends. Jackie graduated with honors from Brown High School in Atlanta in 1950. She went on to earn her bachelor's and master's degrees from Georgia State University, formerly known as University of Georgia Atlanta. She worked for several years as an Executive Assistant at Colonial Stores Corporation before leaving to raise her family. Jackie entered her second career in 1967 as an elementary and gifted teacher with Atlanta Public Schools until her retirement in the early 1990's. She is survived by her loving family who were the center of her world. She leaves behind two sons, John D'Andrea (Ellen), Chris D'Andrea (June), four loving grandchildren, James (Anna Lee), Anna, Kristen (Warren), Laura, and a bonus granddaughter Tawny (Jacob). Eight great grandchildren, Bella, Cooper, JJ, Ander, Liam, Skylar, Jace, Cade, and two nieces Stacey and Jessica, as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, and loved ones. Jackie also left behind two angels on earth caregivers Beonia (Bea) Miller and Camikia (Nicki) Sculley. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Jerry R. D'Andrea, her parents and two sisters. Jackie will be remembered for her dedicated love of family and friends. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. A memorial service will be scheduled at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Tyrone, Georgia, in the coming week. Memorials in her honor can be made to St. Matthew's Catholic Church or Sheppard Spinal Center.
