Death
Hallie Mae Furr, a beloved mother of 84 years of age, quietly and peacefully went home to be with her precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday morning, July 27, 2008. Recently, she was transferred from Spring Arbor Assisted Living to Stanly Manor at the time of her death. A special “thank you” to the staffs of Stanly Manor and Spring Arbor for the loving care you provided for our precious and beautiful mother.Hallie was born on October 3, 1923, in Anson County to the late George and Hattie Horne. Her first husband, L.D. Honeycutt, and second husband, Horace J. Furr, preceded her in death, along with two brothers Dan and Truby Horne, and one sister, Margie Arant.She is survived by one sister, Betty Steagall of Wingate. Also preceding her in death were two daughters, Jessie Mae Honeycutt and Mary Kathryn Calloway and one son, Rocky Lane Honeycutt.She is survived by her daughters, Frances Blanks of Albemarle, Gail Lamb of Albemarle, Brenda Hatley of New Salem; and one son, Rev. Dr. Darrell Huneycutt of Albemarle. She is survived by a large number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and stepgrandchildren.Hallie was a long time and retired employee of the Wiscassett Mills Company, Albemarle. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her children. She was a wonderful Christian lady who enjoyed attending church with her children until she was unable to attend due to her declining health.Visitation for the family and friends will be at the Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle, Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be at the Tabernacle United Methodist Church, Albemarle, Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at 2 p.m. Graveside services will be held at the Canton Baptist Church Albemarle. The Rev. Dr. Darrell Huneycutt, Pastor Danny Wilson and Pastor Ron Perry will be the officiating ministers.The home of Rev. Dr. and Mrs. Darrell Huneycutt, 1004 Melchor Road, Albemarle is open for the family, friends and neighbors during this special time in the home-going of their sweet and dear mother Mrs. Hallie.The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to Hospice of Stanly County for their love, care and support given to our dear and sweet mother.Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N.
