Notes
Death
Mr. Charles W. Furr, a highly respected young farmer of this county, died of pneumonia a few miles form Dallas last Monday evening. Mr. Furr leaves a wife and several children and numerous relatives and friends to mourn his untimely death. The New Era extends its sympathies to the bereaved family in this their hour of bereavement.15 May 1884
The funeral of Mr. Charles Furr, late deceased, will be preached the first Sunday in June at Friendship church, this county, where his remains now lie. We mourn the loss of a good man. While it is our loss, we hope it is his gain. Charley left good evidence that when he was taken away, his spirit would take its flight to God who gave it. –B.Flay (Dots from Oval)
