Death

ALBEMARLE -- Mrs. Furr, 70, of 640 North Fourth Street, died Tuesday, November 25, 2003 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 28th at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Pastor Dr. David Morrow, Elder Rom Kerley and Elder Larry Austin, officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Oakboro, NC. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 27th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle. Mrs. Furr was born December 16, 1932 in Stanly County, NC, daughter of the late Elenore Huneycutt Whitley and James Daniel Whitley. A self employed painter, she was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Survivors are her husband, Craven Eldridge Furr of the home; daughter and husband, Nita Wilson and Jim of Stanley, NC; grandchildren, Sarah Wilson and Justin Wilson, both of Stanley; nephew, Phil Huneycutt and wife Lisa of Oakboro, NC; niece, Gay Huneycutt of Albemarle, NC; grand nephew, Bradly Whitley and grand nieces, Starr Whitley and Faith Whitley, all of Albemarle; sisters, Jewel Purser, Madge Whitley and Patricia Whitley, all of Albemarle and Betty Almond of Locust, NC; and brothers, James Whitley of Albemarle and Buford Whitley of Oakboro, NC. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 North First Street, Albemarle, NC 28001. Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle, is serving the Furr Family.
