Death
Kathleen Furr Davis, 71, of Gold Hill passed away Friday, Oct. 7, 2016, at her residence surrounded by family. Mrs. Furr was born in Niagara Falls, N.Y., on Dec. 1, 1944, daughter of the late Joe Hartsell Furr and Mary Randock Furr. Mrs. Davis received her education in the Niagara Falls School System and attended Fisher Street Baptist Church in Kannapolis. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and her flower garden. Her greatest joy was being with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Harold Davis; sister, Frances Grey; and brother, Joseph J. Furr. Survivors include daughter, Jamie Wilnett Davis and life partner Kenny Smith of Gold Hill; sons, Jeffrey Davis and wife Shelia of Gold Hill, Gary Davis and wife Sonya of Gold Hill and Jeremy Davis and wife Ozan of Rockwell; sister, Mary Ann Allman of Concord; grandchildren, Jeffrey Davis, Jr., Natasha Davis, Garrett Davis, Dylan Davis, Landan Davis and Hunter Davis; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation: The family will be at Powles Staton Funeral from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday. Service: Funeral Services will be conducted at 12 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at Powles Staton Funeral Home Chapel. Conducted by Pastor Joey Spry of Fisher Street Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Salisbury National Cemetery, Statesville Blvd., Salisbury.
