Death
The unclothed body of a merchant seaman identified by a dog tag as Claude F. Furr, 41, of Whistler, Ala., was found yesterday washed up on the ocean front at Jacob Riis Park, Rockaway Beach. Police said Furr had been missing for several hours from the United States Merchant Marine Hospital, at the foot of Beach 149th St., Rockaway Beach, where he was a patient. His body was discovered by William Weiderman of 546 Beach 135th St., Belle Harbor.Brooklyn Eagle, Brooklyn, New York, October 10, 1946
