Returned to duty prior to October 14, 1863, when he was wounded in the mouth and captured at Bristoe Station, Virginia. Confined at Old Capitol Prison, Washington, D.C., until transferred to Point Lookout, Maryland, October 27, 1863. Paroled at Point Lookout on September 18, 1864, and transferred to Varna, Virginia, where he was received September 23, 1864 for exchange. Furloughed for sixty days on October 4, 1864.
