Herschel Radford Summers, Jr., 62, of 3877 Mellisa Drive, Harrisburg, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, in the emergency room at Mission St. Josephs Memorial Hospital. His funeral was at 11 a.m. today in Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord. The Rev. H. Wayne Deaton officiated and burial was in Charlotte Memorial Garden. He was born Feb. 10, 1939, in Catawba County and was a truck driver for Collins & Aikman. He was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church and Friendship Baptist Church. His father, Herschel Radford Summers, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Summers of Harrisburg; two daughters, Donna Lynn Morgan of Belding, Mich., and Tamara Presson of Cornelius; four sons, Alan Wayne Summers of Concord, Nathaniel Wade Summers of Locust, Timmy Ray Summers of Monroe and Michael Treadway of Concord; two brothers, Jimmie Lester Summers of Belding, Mich.; and Walter Raymond Summers of Colonial, Va.; a sister, Linda Summers of Wilmington; and 10 grandchildren.Stanly News and Press, Albemarle, North Carolina, March 29, 2001
