Death
William J. Furr, Jan. 4, 1937 -- May 7, 2004William James Furr, 67, of Modesto died Friday at his home. Mr. Furr was a native of Oklahoma and had lived in Modesto 60 years. He was a laborer 60 years and had worked in almond farming. He attended Crossroads Community Church and enjoyed building bicycles and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Julia Furr of Modesto; children, Allen Furr, Rammie Furr and Amy Furr, all of Modesto; brother, Billy Don Furr of Modesto; sisters, Ann Shaffer of Columbia, Mo., and Edna Helmer of Modesto; and nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Crossroads Community Church. Eaton Family Funeral & Cremation Service in charge of arrangements. Remembrances may be made to Community Hospice, 601 McHenry Ave., Modesto 95350
