Death
Wendell Clark McKay, 80, died May 21, 2016. He was born October 1, 1935 to James and Alta Furr McKay. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from International Paper Company. Clark was a member of the Locust Bayou Church of Christ and will be remembered as a hard worker all of his life. He loved gardening, hunting, fishing, but most of all, he loved his family. Mr. McKay was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jim McKay; a sister, Reba McKay Hendon; a granddaughter, Tiffany Smith; two grandsons, Donald Kilgore and Drake McKay; and a wife, Leona McKay. He is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Janie McKay; a son, Buddy McKay of Locust Bayou, AR; eight daughters, Linda Massey (Ron) of Shreveport, LA, Lera Powell (Kenneth) of Sarepta, LA, Anita Rowe (Allen) of Sherwood, AR, Sheila Harris (Gary) of Locust Bayou, AR, Vicki McKay of Locust Bayou, AR, Elizabeth Strickland (Kent) of Hampton, AR, Sarah Rauls of Holly Springs, AR and Mary Beth Crawford (Jake) of Locust Bayou, AR.; twenty grandchildren, Tammy Landry, Kristen Long, Cathy Trimble, David Kilgore, Ashley Smith, Tony McKay, James Woods, Josh Harris, Laura Ayers, Molli Ponder, Katie Ponder, Logan Strickland, Mark Strickland, Weston King, Rylee Rauls, Ashley Rauls, Brian Rauls, Gracey Crawford, McKaylah Crawford and Katy McMahan, eighteen great-grandchildren, Eastin, Jaxon, Carter, Kendall, Cade, Macy, Reagan, Tiffany, Ashton, Matt, Alicia, Sam, Chris, Trent, Brandt, Allen, and Justin; and two sisters, Judy Miller (Len), and Janice Lum; two nephews, John Shirron and Chuck Shirorn; and six nieces, Lori Bussell, Missy Beaver, Julie Cole, Suzanne Lum, Lisa Ramerez and Jill Gatling. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, 6-8 p.m. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Locust Bayou church of Christ with Brian Dixon and Sam Higgs officiating followed by interment at Lakeside Cemetery.Endnotes
