Whitley, Tina Laura Mauldin Secrest recieved the information concerning the names of Clarence and Dallie Almond Furr and that of Virgil and Credie Whitley. The Virgil Whitley's are her mother's parents, the Clarence Furr's are her Dad's parents.

Death
Mildred Virginia Whitley, 94, of Albemarle passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Trinity Place in Albemarle. Mildred was born July 28, 1931, in Oakboro, North Carolina to the late Adam Roosevelt Furr and Thaddeus Whitley Furr. She was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Furr, and her sister Lucille Mauldin. Mildred worked in retail for many years at Grants and Cato. She was a member first of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and then West Albemarle Baptist Church. She loved being a grandmother and attended most Bulldog home games to cheer for her grandsons in football, baseball, and basketball. She was also an avid Carolina Tarheel fan. She traveled quite often during retirement and enjoyed many activities with her friends. Survivors include son, Michael Whitley ( Ginger) of Norwood, NC and daughter, Lisa Tucker of Pflugerville, Texas. Grandsons include Ryan (Michelle) Whitley of Decatur, GA, Daniel Tucker of Harrisburg, NC, Johnson Tucker of Charlotte, NC, and Wesley (Sara) Burris of Austin, TX. Great grandchildren include Hayden Tucker, Richard Tucker, Scott Burris, Jordan Burris, and great-great granddaughter Maizie Lou Tucker. The family would like to thank the staff of Tillery Compassionate Care and Trinity Place Skilled Nursing for the exceptional assistance and professional care they provided Mildred and the family. The family would also like to mention Mildred's dear friends Faye, Roger, and Rodney from Creekridge Apartments who were like family and helped each other in so many ways. A special mention to one of her best friends, Michelle, who treated Mildred with love and grace.
