Death

Funeral services for Dan B. Furr Jr., of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 6, 2011, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel on Natchez Drive, with burial in Easthaven Cemetery. Mr. Furr, 75, died January 4, 2011, at his residence. He was born in Lincoln County on November 12, 1935. He was owner and operator of Electric Motor Sales and Pump Repair for 40 years. He was a Mason and member of Fair River Lodge No. 203. He was a member of Easthaven Baptist Church. Preceding him in death were his parents, Dan B. Furr Sr. and Inez Chutz Furr; his son, Randy Furr; and his father-in-law, Carmon Lester. Survivors are his wife of more than 53 years, Barbara L. Furr of Brookhaven; his daughters, Katrina "Tina" Pickett and husband, Eddie and Sandra Furr, all of Brookhaven; his grandchildren, Allyson Pickett McDonnieal and husband, Grant of New Hebron, and Chase Pickett of Brookhaven; his sisters, Geneva Rainey and husband, Dewey, of Terry, Jody Ward and daughter, Deb of Jackson; his mother-in-law, Lois Lester; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Ministries in Brookhaven.
