Notes
Death
Mary Kathryn Furr Arnold Walker, 72, of Ocean Springs died Feb. 14, 2009 in Ocean Springs. Mrs. Walker was a housewife and a member of McClellan Road Baptist Church in Ocean Springs MS, and also a member of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Wayne Furr and Ruby Selma Miller Furr; her husband of 46 years USAF T/Sgt. Paul Walker, her sister Etta Faye Furr Norton and her husband Paul; great uncle and aunt, Andrew and Lizzie Miller, who raised her and her sister. Kathryn as most knew her or Gi-Gi, as she became known when she had grandchildren, had a passion for children. Her husband Paul was in the Air Force for 20 years and wherever they lived she taught Sunday School and worked in Vacation Bible School. She was a woman of high character and integrity. She truly had a servant's heart and would voluntarily help anyone in need. She often worked "in the background" as she called it, without recognition and she preferred it that way. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her and especially by her family. She is survived by her daughters, Debra Ann Walker, and Ramona Fay Walker Lynd Carroll, and her husband Leon all of Ocean Springs. Grandchildren, Libby Danielle Walker Sandoz and husband Stephen, Kathryn Lynette Lynd Hardin and husband Brad, Michelle Renee Lynd Smith and husband Mark and a great-grandson, Paul Weslie Smith. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m.-12 noon Feb. 18, 2009, at Riverwood Family Funeral Services in Brookhaven. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. at Riverwood Chapel with interment at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven.Published in The Sun Herald on 2/18/2009
