A 28-year-old Florence man was killed this week when his home caught fire. Norman Furr was found Monday in the bathroom of his Lang Circle home, Rankin County Sheriff Ronnie Pennington said. Pennington said witnesses reported seeing flames and looking inside the kitchen window. "They said they saw towels on the stove burning," the sheriff said. "How that happened, I don't know." Furr's wife and other family members were away when the fire broke out and came home to see the fire trucks, Pennington said.
