Death
Totten, p. 116--"The will of Jacob Verdon distinctly states that Thomas Verdon was his eldest son. If such was the case, then he had two sons by the name of Willem as we have the record of the baptism of a son Willem Verdon, his son, bapt. April 30, 1682 and his son Thomas Verdon was bapt. September 23, 1683, and the will dated April 30, 1740, distinctly mentions a son Willem Verdon. Therefore, the first Willem Verdon must have died young, which left Thomas Verdon in the position of the eldest son as stated in the will."Endnotes
