Notes
Birth
From "Research Notes"The record of his 1687 oath of allegiance shows him as a native of New Netherland. [36] He was listed after Magdalena's husband in their 1663 petition to the orphan-masters,[37] so probably was younger than his sister. There is no record of his marriage, but his only child, Jacobus, was baptized 19 March 1656[38] suggesting that he married in 1655. Assuming the typical groom's age of 21 or 22, his birth would have occurred in 1633-34, a typical interval after the birth of his older sister.
