Julia was the eldest of seven known children of James Rothrock (1782-1853) and Susan Norton (1785-1854), who married 10 Feb 1807 at Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. It is assumed that James and Susan are buried at Union Cemetery, at Centre County, Pennsylvania, but is not known for sure.
Julia first married to James Kent (1803-1826) on 15 Nov 1825 in Pennsylvania. Julia and James were the parents of one known child, namely:

After James died, Julia remarried to her cousin, John Rothrock (1808-1851) on 21 Nov 1828 in Pennsylvania. John died at Caledonia, Elk County, Pennsylvania. Julia and John were the parents of nine known children, namely:
