The 1900 census says that he is a grandson of John M English (745) and Helen English (746). However, the 1910 census calls him a son. This seems unbelievable because the father would have been 50 at birth and the mother 46.

Because he was born in a place other than the family residence, I wonder if he might have been an out-of-wedlock son of Helen.

I think he is actually the son of Helen (530) or George (748).
