"ENOCH JOY (91 was born in St. Mary's County, Maryland, the son of PETER JOY (2) and ANN STONE. He married TECLA DRURY, the daughter of PETER DRURY and ANN BAILEY. Lot #33 in Beaverdam Manor" called "Range," then "Goddard's Delight" containing 75 1/4 acres was leased on 8/21/1745 to ENOCH JOY by TECLA JOY then in possession. According to the Calvert Papers in 1761 TECLA JOY possessed 40 acres in "Beaverdam Manor". In 1768 this tract was in possession of ENOCH JOY b 1742 (then gone away) and ANN JOY b 1735. ENOCH JOY was deceased by 8/20/1746 when TECLA JOY administered his estate, valued at £42:15:10. The next of kin on his inventory were his brothers CHARLES JOY and IGNATIUS JOY (33:321).
TECLA JOY wrote her will on 2/20/1796 and it was probated on 5/5/1796. To her granddaughter CATHERINE JOY she left a horse and household goods. To her sister JANE DRURY she left household goods. To her grandson THOMAS JOY she left livestock.
