Arrival
Dodge, Genealogy, p. 8, gives an account of the circumstances of William's immigration. It also explains that he settled in the part of Salem that became Beverly.Dodge, Family, p. 383, explains that the ship departed Gravesend on 25 April and the Isle of Wight on 11 May, landing at Salem on 29 June, 1629. It also states that Salem was larger then, and that Dodge settled in the area that became Beverly (in 1668).
