Scanlon of 76 Edward Street, Cohoes, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Scanlon on Sunday [Jul 20] at 2 p.m. in St. Patrick's Church. ... "John F. Scanlon, 38, a native of Cohoes and a Troy resident for the last five years, was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Mary's Hospital early today after suffering a heart attack in his home, 2316 6th Ave. ...
"Born in Cohoes, Mr. Scanlon had resided there until 1948 when he moved to Troy. He is a graduate of Keveny Academy and for the last seven years had been employed by the Behr-Manning Corp. as a laboratory technician. Prior to that Mr. Scanlon was employed at the Watervliet Arsenal.
"Survivors include his wife, the former Gertrude M. Eichler; two sons, Thomas J. and Richard Scanlon, of Troy, and a sister, Mrs. Joseph E. Cox.
"The funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. ... St. Peter's Church... Interment will be in St. Agnes' Cemetery, Menands."
