The personal history of Thomas Graves is recorded in The Register of the Kentucky Historical Society, Volume 12, Part 2, p. 81. Information was taken from Revolutionary War Pension Application W. 1418, of Thomas Graves, National Archives.He served in the American Revolution, enlisting in 1780, under Capt. John Phillips and Capt. Charles Yancy and served until the end of the war.
He came to Kentucky in October of 1783, and lived near Lexington for 18 years, later moving to Cumberland County, Kentucky, where he died in 1840.
He and Mary Chilton Graves had five children.
