James Bennie Knight Sr.

James Bennie Knight, age 72, of Murphy, NC passed away Saturday, April 7, 2012 at his residence.
He was a native of Pageland, SC and the son of the late Ervin and Mary Aldridge Knight. James was a US Army veteran. He retired from Estes Express Lines. James enjoyed woodworking and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Stiles Knight; one son, James B. Knight Jr. of Murphy; three daughters, Angie Knight Sheaves of Concord, NC, Gail Knight Russell and husband Bryant of Indian Trail, NC and Donna Knight Peters and husband Tom of Murphy; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Friendship Baptist Church in Murphy. Rev. Danny Paris and Rev. John Coleman will officiate. Interment will be in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dillon Sheaves, Bobby Hinson, Tom Peters, James Knight, Jr., Bryant Russell, Jeff Smith and Junior Knight.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Friendship Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in memory of James Knight to the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o T.L. McNabb, 186 Friendship Church Road, Murphy, NC 28906.
