Barker Rites Are Held At North Freedom
North Freedom - Funderal services for Howard Hill Barker were held at the Methodist church here on Wednesday, the Rev. Anderson officiating.
...Interment was made in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Howard Hill Baker, son of John Barker and Maud Hill Barker, was born in the town of Baraboo, Sept 28, 1890 and died May 7, 1938, at his home in south Orange, New Jersey. At the age of 10 he parents moved to North Freedom. He graduated from the high school in Baraboo in 1908. He took his college work at the Universities of Wisconsin, Colorado, and Missouri.
For some years he worked at the US Bureau of Mines in Denver. For the last 15 years he worked at the US Radium Corporation in New York City. At the time of his death he was a director and vice president of the latter corporation.
Mr. Barker was preceded in death by his father in 1908 and his mother in 1937. He is survived by his sister Helen Barker Grugon of Selmer, Tenn.; three uncles: W. C. Hill of North Freedom, Sam Barker of Jefferson City, Iowa and Alec Barker of Houston, Texas; two aunts, Sara Loche of Boulder, Bol. and Mrs. E. M. Brett of Chicago. Also a nephew and niece, John and Catherine Grugon.
