Daniel Doane
(1637 - 20 Sep 1712)
DANIEL- DOANE (John'). His marriages are not recorded in Eastham records. His 1st wife is believed by some genealogists to have been Constance Snow, daughter of Nicholas and Constance (Hopkins), but no documentary evidence has been found. The assumption is based upon the names of two of his children: Constant (a son) and Constance (a daughter). The Society of Mayflower Descendants has not accepted this assumption.
Second wife said to be Hepzibah Cole
Daughter of Ruth and Daniel Cole. Previously married to George Crispe on 24 May 1677. Children with George were Mary Crispe Williamson & Merci Crispe. This information was found in NEHGS, "1st Settlers of Eastham Mass," volume 6, pgs 43 & 44, & "Great Migration begins," Vol I-III pgs 561 & 562. Married to Daniel Doane. Had one daughter by Daniel Doane, Hepzibah, born 1686.
According to "The Doane family: Deacon John Doane, of Plymouth, and Doctor John Done, of Maryland, and their descendants" she was supposed to have survived her husband by many years, he died 1712.
Children by his first wife include Rebecca who married Benjamin Myrick and Abigail who married Timothy Dimmock
