Daisy L. Pierce 91, of Jamesport passed away October 9, 2018 at the Morningside Center in Chillicothe.
Daisy was born March 29, 1927 the daughter of Harrison Monroe and Letha Mae (Beaman) Thomlinson in Gallatin, where she lived as a child and attended country school. Daisy was united in marriage to Harlan Pierce on August 18, 1945 in Kansas City, Kansas. The couple settled in Jamesport where they raised their family and Daisy has lived for over 50 years. She became part of the community and made many lasting relationships. Daisy was a stay at home mom who devoted her time and talents to her children, once they were grown she worked with her aunt Frankie cleaning houses, wallpapering and any other tasks that needed their touch. She later was employed at the Jamesport School where she cooked at the elementary. Her love of children and cooking skills made her a perfect fit for the job.
Daisy was a dedicated 50 year member of the Jamesport Baptist Church where she enjoyed the fellowship she shared with her church family. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary. Daisy loved to do embroidery work and delighted in giving her projects to her family. Daisy enjoyed Sunday dinners, birthdays and holidays; and always made family gatherings memorable. Daisy adored her grandchildren, spending time with them was always special. She was truly a special lady who was kind and loving. Daisy will be greatly missed.
Daisy was preceded in death by her parents, stepdad, Harley Whitt, husband Harlan in 1996, sisters, Evelyn McGuire, Kathy Thomas, Carolyn Sheiver, Elsie Cornett, Vivian Myers brothers, Richard, Jim, Dean, Ivan, Darrell, Ollus, Boyd and Herbert Whitt, Victor Thomlinson, and a great-grandson, Zane Hocker.
Survivors include: son, Jerry (Dixie) Pierce of Jamesport; daughter, Dianna (Terry) Schroll of Chillicothe; daughter, Cheryl (Greg) Sharp of Liberty; brother, Gary Whitt of Cameron; brother, Dean Thomlinson of Willow Springs, MO; sister, Mary Harrison and brother, Buster Thomlinson both of Pomona, MO; Ten grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
