Died Friday, May 31, 1985, at the Provincial House in Cass City. She was 83. She was born May 4, 1902 in Caro and was a life-long Tuscola County resident. She married Merrit Hawley on Oct. 31, 1918 in Caro but he preceded her in death in June of 1962....
...survived by eight sons, Warren Hawley of Augres, Leonard & Frank Hawley of Gagetown, Willard Hawley of Akron, Alton Hawley of Wisner, John Hawley of Plymouht, Andy Hawley of Vassar and Wayne Hawley of Clarkson; seven daughters, Mrs. Lena Mausolf of Deford, Mrs. Rowina Thorp of Lake, Mrs. Irene Smutek of Whittemore, Mrs. Edward (Rosella) Dixon of Buckley, Mrs. Beulah Cookenmaster of Kalamazoo, Mrs. Fred (Jennie) Thorp of Sebewaing, and Mrs. Jack (Marlene) Dennis of Caro; 68 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
One son, Joe; one daughter, Mary; one granddaughter and 14 brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
...Burial was in the Ellington Township Cemetery.
