Presumably they were married - if so, they divorced because Orrin married in Virginia in 1845. And she married Michael Finley as Catharine Allen. That the son Orrin Allen (who later used his stepfather's surname, Finley, as his middle name was a son of Orrin Nathaniel Allen has been substantiated by atDNA matches to proven descendants of the Allen family.
