Mrs. Gertrude A. Tapscott, 102, died Tuesday evening, Sept 5, 1995 at the Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.
.... Mrs. Tapscott was born April 10, 1893 at Spickard, MO, the daughter of Matthias and Louise Marrs Howe. ....married to John Franklin Ricketts on 29 Jun 1913 at Tindall. He died June 2, 1963. On Sept 29, 1967 she was married to James Tapscott at Princeton. He died Dec 27, 1972.
Mrs. Tapscott, who had lived in Trenton since 1960, was a member of the First Christian Church of Trenton.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Grace) Spencer of Rt 3, Trenton, and Mrs. Lyle (Maxine) Burt of Sacramento, CA; one son, Clifton Ricketts; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Lester (Naomi) Shaney; and one stepson, Farrell Tapscott, all of Trenton, 11 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 22 step great-grandchildren; 4 great, great grandchildren and 26 step great, great grandchildren.
Mrs. Tapscott was also preceded in death by two sons, Rex and Lloyd Ricketts; two grandchildren, Loren Ricketts & Joyce Parrish; five brother and five sisters.
