Hope Durfee

Hope Durfee, Cory's sister never married. Her will dated February 18, 1786, was recorded in the Bristol County Registry of Probate inTaunton, Bristol County, MA, Book 29, page 62.
In her will shebequeathed "... to cousin Thomas Durfee, son of Cory Durfee (deceased), $50.00 and pocketbook, to cousin Benjamin Durfee, son of my brother Cory(deceased), $ 20.00 ... " " ... to cousin Cory Durfee, son of brother Cory (deceased), $ 20.00,to cousin Sarah Durfee, daughter of Cory, certain clothing and $ 50.00;to cousin Mary Durfee, daughter of Cory, a dress and $ 50.00, to cousinDeborah Durfee, daughter of Cory, clothing and $ 50.00, to cousin Hope Durfee, daughter of Cory, $ 20.00 ... "
A distribution of Benjamin's estate was made June 6, 1815, by Benjamin Durfee (probably a cousin), Appraiser and Divider, at the direction of the Bristol County Probate Court, in Taunton. The estate was divided six ways and the individuals mentioned were Perry Boomer (Sarah had died), Hope Durfee, Deborah Durfee, Thomas Durfee, Corey Durfee, Dudley Chase, husband of Mary (Durfee) Chase. Their mother was not mentioned and was probably dead. Benjamin's sisters Deborah and Hope were mentioned but Reed stated that they both died in 1807. Bristol County Probate Court in Taunton.
