CROSS CITY -- Clarissa Mae Jordan, 82, owner and operator of Jordan Jewelers in Atlanta, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2001.
A native of Conyers, Ga., she was a resident of Ocala. Mrs. Jordan was first runner up as Miss Atlanta at age 18. She enjoyed boating.
Survivors include her daughter, Brenda B. Watson, Austin, Texas; son, Robert J. Bennett, Dallas; sisters, Ina Kelley, Conyers and Ella McGiboney, Stone Mountain, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Robert J. Bennett and Julian R. Jordan and a daughter, Angela B. Beaver.

CLARISSA MAE BENNETT JORDAN Our beloved Mother, Sister, Aunt and Grandmother, Clarissa Mae Weekes Bennett Jordan, a resident of Ocala and Cross City, FL for the past eight years was called home by our Heavenly Father on August 20, 2001 after a lengthy illness with Alzheimer's. She leaves a lot of happy memories to the many people who knew and loved her, which was many. Mae was born on April 19, 1919 in Conyers, GA and was a long time resident of Atlanta, GA. She graduated from Stone Mountain High School and Atlanta Business College. She was first runner up as Miss Atlanta at age 18. She was a life long employee of Planters Peanuts, now Nabisco, Inc. Until her retirement, she and her second husband, Julian Ray Jordan, owned and operated Jordan Jewelers at Ansley Mall and Broadview Plaza in Atlanta, for over thirty years. She spent many happy hours visiting with "her customers and friends" at her "second job", six days a week. Her past time was family first, work and when she had a spare moment, she loved boating on Lake Lanier. Mae brought abundant love to her family and friends. We will always remember her caring and very generous nature. Mae was also affectionately known as Mother, Grandmother and Aunt Mae. She will be greatly missed forever. Mae was preceded in death by her parents, Lovett and Pearl Henry Weekes; her first husband, Robert J. Bennett, who was the father of her three children; second husband, Julian Ray Jordan; her beloved daughter, Angela Bennett Beaver and son in-law, William Beaver; brother, Floyd Carl Weekes, and her half-sister, Violet Watson. She is survived by her loving children: daughter, Brenda Bennett Watson of Austin, TX; son, Robert Jarrell Bennett, Dallas, TX; sisters, Ina Kelley, Conyers, GA; Ella McGiboney, Stone Mountain, GA; loving grandsons, Richard S. Pair, Cleveland, GA; Randall J. Pair, Chandler, OK; Ronald G. Pair, Cross City, FL; Ross Bennett, Dallas, TX; Rhett Bennett, Brown University, Providence, RI; and Vestavia Hill, AL; William Scott Bennett Beaver, wife Melissa Beaver, Lawrenceville, GA; granddaughter, Tammy Beaver, Ocala, FL; great-grandsons, Aaron Bennett Beaver, Lawrenceville, GA; Randall J. Pair II, Chandler, OK; K.J. and Justin Fannin, Ocala, FL; great-granddaughters, Stephanie A. Pair, Dawsonville, GA; Madison R. Pair, Chandler, OK; Christy Fannin, Ocala, FL, and Dezirae Wiegert, Choctow, OK, and many nieces and nephews. A very, very special thank you , to her primary caregiver and grandson, Ronald G. Pair for his untiring love and devotion to his grandmother for eight years. His love and wonderful care blessed her as well as all of her family and loved ones. We will never forget you Mae, Mom, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, and Aunt Mae, especially your love, your generous nature, and we will never forget Ron's love and care for you. A memorial service was held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2001 at Saint Patrick's Episcopal Church, Ocala, FL. and a second service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2001, at Saint Patrick's Episcopal Church in Dunwoody, GA. with final interment at Haynes Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Loganville, GA.
