Nancy Helen Yeager was born on May 7, 1946 in Lubbock. She attended Monterey High school and graduated in 1964, and went on to Texas Tech University where she majored in biology but withdrew in order to devote herself to her husband and future family.
In 1965, Mrs. Yeager married Jimmie Wayne Yeager and remained his wife until Mr. Yeager's death in 2006.
Mrs. Yeager was a homemaker for most of her life, and was also a long-time volunteer for Contact Lubbock, a telephone counseling service for people in need of a sympathetic ear.
Mrs. Yeager was a loving mother and wife, and in turn, was loved fiercely by her husband, children, extended family and friends. She had a keen intellect, a dry sense of humor, and was deeply concerned over the plight of people less fortunate than herself. She loved literature and ballet, and was particularly fond of babies. Mrs. Yeager died at the age of 62 after a long struggle with diabetes and its attendant complications.
She is survived by her mother, Geneva Adams of Lubbock; two sons, Christopher of Houston and Joseph of Lubbock; daughter-in-law, Paula of Lubbock, and two sisters, Judith Warman-Adams and Angela Adams, both of Lubbock.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 31 in the Neil Chapel of Carillon Senior LifeCare Community on Park Avenue off of 18th Street and Norfolk Avenue. Donations in Mrs. Yeager's name may be sent to the American Diabetes Association and VistaCare Inpatient Hospice of Lubbock.

Jimmy Wayne Yeager, 62, of Lubbock died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2006.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Asbury United Methodist Church.
