Sarah "Sallie" Elizabeth Angell was the eldest of ten children born to James Richard Angell (1854-1928) and Mary Elizabeth Churchwell (1862-1931).

She married to William Richard Grantham about 1895 at Ardmore, Carter County, Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory (OK). They had one son, Henry Lee Grantham, born in 1899. William died two years later.

On 02 Dec 1900, she married to William Anderson Hill near Newport in Carter County, Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory (OK). They had eight children:
