Robert B. Longmire

(1 Apr 1843 - 5 Dec 1925)

Robert B. Longmire, grandson, son of his son Samuel, received an equal share to the children of Robert Longmire in his will, 1847. Apparently the son Samuel was deceased, leaving only this son. His mother must have been a Burnett, she in turn a child of a Hernden sister of Rhodes, John, Duncan, etc. It is apparent that the Herndons took over the care of Robert after the death of his grandfather Longmire in 1847 and then grandmother Elizabeth in 1850.

February Court, 3 Feb 1851, Mon. Duncan C. Herndon, Guardian of Robert B. Longmire, returns his account. He renews his guardian bond of $7000 with Rhodes N. Herndon and John R. Herndon, securities.
February Court, 2 Feb 1852, Monday. Duncan C. Herndon returned his account of the guardianship of Robert B. Longmire.
