David owned 400 acres of land on the south side of the Rivanna River, then Albemarle County. He was about 4 miles from the property of William Haden - two of their children would marry each other.

First - all debts to be paid
Item: to wife Sallie Jones, Negro woman Mary and her child Barlett to dispose of at her will & pleasure. Feather bed and furniture.
Item: to son William Jones, 100 acres where he lives, to be laid off by sons Roland and James. To be run from William Jones' line, formerly Bartlett Ford's line to the new road... one Negro man Jacob now in his possession
Item: to daughter Patty Hadin, formerly Patty Jones, Negro woman Phillis and her increase and $1
Item: to son John Jones, Negro boy Foster
Item: lend to son David Jones, three Negroes, Sue, Harriett & Mary, in trust with my Executor, as long as he lives and at his death to be sold and divided among all his children but Patty, his eldest daughter which I desire to have nothing
Item: to son James Jones part of the land whereon I now live, 133 acres. Begin Martin King's road at the old boat land, up a road, widow Hogg's line, to the river, etc. Also a small strip of land on the North side of Martin King's Road. One Negro man Isaac and one Negro girl Charity. And a small piece of land on South side Martin King's Road, adj lands of Allen Barnard, 10 acres.
Item: to son Roland Jones, the balance of the land whereon I now live, 150 acres. Negro man, Will. $100 to be raised out of property not otherwise appropriated.
Item: to daughter Salley White, formerly Salley Jones, Negro woman Charlotte. To my grandchildren Chapman White & Elizabeth White, Negro boy Reuben.
All my stock and everything else found not before devised to be sold on a credit of 12 months and the residue, if any, equally divided among my children.

One Negro boy Archer not devised - he should be sold to the highest bidder, on twelve months credit and the money to be devised: To son Roland, $100. To son David, $100. The balance to my wife, Salley.
25 Oct 1819. Fluvanna County Court. Will and codicil were proved by oaths of Thomas Goodman & M. Burgess and ordered to be recorded. Roland Jones & James Jones entered into bond of $10,000 with John Jones and John M. Haden, securities. Certificate granted them for probate.
