Ernest Gordon Hester served in the U.S. Navy, World War I. Enlisted as an apprentice seaman, 17 Jan 1917 - he was 18 years, 9 months, old. Bowdon, Carroll Co, GA. Also served as Seaman 2nd Class and Storekeeper 3rd Class until 11 Nov 1918. He served on the USS Jason.
His Tennessee Death Certificate #13049. Ernest Gordon Hester died 4 May 1957 at his home, 114 Walling St., McMinnville, Warren Co, TN of myocardial infarction. He was born 4 Apr 1898 in Georgia and was married. His wife was Jimmie Gaston. His occupation was Superintendent at the Rockford Mills. Father was William Tapley Hester; mother Leann Adamson. Mrs. E. G. Hester of McMinnville was the informant. Buried on May 6th at Mt. View Cemetery, McMinnville.

Jimmie died 4 Jun 1985 and is also buried Mr. View Cemetery, McMinnville, Warren Co, TN
